The Earth's rain forests contain a plethora of new and undiscovered medicines, yet we continue to destroy them in favor of logging, oil exploration, cattle grazing, and numerous other methods of rapid consumption. This tragedy is compounded by the fact that every time an aging shaman dies it is as if a whole library of ancient knowledge has been lost.
